I'm a big fan of the several small meal a day approach. Snacks keep me from ever being starving and provide continuous energy. The key to smart snacking is choosing the right ones. What works best for me is to have a no or very low carbohydrate snack between breakfast and lunch and then a snack with up to two servings of carbohydrate between lunch and dinner.
Having to avoid a lot of sugar, anything that has come into contact with nuts and only having a limited amount of organic dairy, you might think my snack options are quite limited. Luckily, I've come up with quite a few options over the years. I typically pick one morning and one afternoon snack and have that for the week and then switch every week so that I don't get sick of anything.
Below are my go-to lists of all the morning and afternoon snacks I use.
